Premium Oilfield Technologies is proud to announce the drilling industry’s first and only fully-electric, servo-driven MPD choke with an integrated drive fully enclosed within the choke actuator. Additionally, we are introducing the only CI/D1 full-bore 8” quarter-turn ball valve, utilizing the same fully-electric, servo-driven continuous duty actuator capable of throttling and holding back-pressure on a well and maintaining set-point pressure automatically with unprecedented precision.

Premium’s Tru-Flow MPD team began this project almost 2 years ago and have now developed the simplest and most economical MPD system in the oilfield. Powered by the Acu-TORK actuator, a single Cat 5 ethernet cable connects to a choke and/or valve and is able to control multiple valves or chokes while also measuring up to 4 pressure and/or flow transmitters locally - all through 1 cable connection.

The Acu-TORK actuator is a true game changer as the intelligence has been transferred from the MPD software to the pressure control device where it belongs, resulting in the most intelligent autonomous MPD choke in the industry. If you lose connection to the control panel, the choke or valve continues to automatically maintain the last set-point pressure. The ethernet cable can be connected to our Tru-Flow touchscreen system and software, which can be placed in the driller’s cabin or elsewhere on the rig. The ethernet cable can be connected directly to the rig’s control system and controlled with rig software, providing maximum flexibility.
